Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority Awarded

Sharjah Central Finance Department (SCFD) honoured  the winners of the Financial Performance Excellence Award, launched with the aim of honouring distinguished institutions and individuals in the financial field.

The event was held at the headquarters of the Police Sciences Academy in Sharjah  on November 30 2020 in light of the precautionary measures taken to ensure the health and safety of the attendees.

This comes in line with  the efforts to raise the level of resource management and save public money and promote the effective governmental expenditure practices.

The honouring ceremony was held in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Central Finance Department (SCFD) and H.E. Waleed Al Sayegh, Director General of SCFD, Nasser Kashwani, Secretary General of the Award, and members of the General Secretariat of the Award as well as representatives of official sponsors and winners of the Award.

Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority (SPCFZA) and H.E. Mohammed Meer Abdul Rahman Al Sarrah, Director of Sharjah Ports and Customs  attended the ceremony.

The event witnessed the honouring of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority with four awards. Sharjah International Free Zone (SPCFZA) won the award of the pioneer in financial performance excellence for independent entities.  Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi  presented the plaque of the prize to Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi Chairman of (SPCFZA). Sharjah Ports (SPCFZA) won the award of pioneer in application of budget criteria(independent entity) , while Hamriyah Free Zone (SPCFZA) won the award of the pioneer in application of  income criteria(independent entity) and finally  Mrs. Amenah Al Mazimi from Sharjah Ports (SPCFZA) won the distinguished new financial employee award for independent entities.

 
H.E. Waleed Al Sayegh stressed the importance of celebrating and honouring the distinguished winners of the Financial Performance Excellence Award in its fourth edition. As the Award plays an important role in enhancing the spirit of competition among employees, developing the tasks and services of financial departments in various government departments and institutions, and bringing about a qualitative shift in the mechanism of work. 

The Financial Performance Excellence Award is one of SCFD’s initiatives aimed at achieving the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, by investing in the financial and human resources in the Emirate.

His Excellency added that the Financial Performance Excellence Award aims to raise the level of efficiency and effectiveness in managing financial resources, preserving public money in various government entities, and upgrading the level of human cadres.
